Some friends of mine just finished work on a new site, GoodWidgets.com, that offers widgets that can be plugged into a website or blog using flash. Right now the widgets pull from Flickr using a username, tag or combination of the two. They currently have 3 available for download and even offer a brand free version for just a few bucks. They are already at work on the next generation of widgets and are open to new ideas that users may have. This is a great way to get a nice slide show of your photos or photos you like on your site.

Ok, so Mr. Jobs introduced the new collection of iPods with great new features including more battery life, a brighter screen, lower prices, search/scroll features, new ear buds, new designs and colors for the Nano. iTunes also received some upgrades including new views, access to Apple’s database of album art, movies now 4 times larger at 640-by-480 and games that can be purchased for play on the iPod.

Now when I think of iPod, gaming is not something that comes to mind. The click wheel, while great for navigation, doesn’t strike me as being a great way to interact with a game. Most games have controls that require both hands to operate allowing for multiple commands at once, like running, shooting and jumping. Games that are and will be available on the iPod would be greatly limited by the click wheel, unless Steve has another trick up his sleeve.
