Back in November 2008 several folks from GeekSouth were involved will planning and running the first Will This Float? event.  In short, this was an event where 5 people got to present their “idea” with the winner to get some cash and time with folks at the ETSU Innovation Lab and Tennessee Small Business Development Center to see what they could do to get the idea off the ground.  

There were three judges to give their feedback after each presentation American Idol style (there was no Simon thankfully).  Followed up by a voting session, where the people in attendance chose the winner.

And the first winner… Eric McCarty for FellowTip.  Yeah that guy who locked himself in his garage for 9 days in July.
