Wish I had discovered this earlier, but I just found out that this weekend there is a festival in Kingsport that features “Three days of experimental electronic music concerts, jam sessions, lectures, and demos” under the title “electro-music 2008.”

The website is http://event.electro-music.com/ where you can find a ton of info.  Also, there was an article on GoTricities about the event.

Basically, there are several sessions that last about 6 hours and it’s $10 per session.  I’m heading to the Saturday night 6:30-12:00 am session - hope to see you there!  The event is held at the Renaissance center.

A really amazing related event (though focused primarily on the Trance style of electronic music) is near Asheville on Sept 19-20 called “T.O.U.C.H. Samadhi Equinox” and you can visit the website for more info.  A ton of incredible DJ’s and artists will be there and you might want to pick up your tickets ahead of time.
