Tri-Cities Computer Club redux

The Geeksouth / Geek Dinner group with the weblog and the forum do some of the good things the now defunct Tri-Cities Computer Club did - link up people locally with common interests who want to have fun and pass around best practice recommendations.  A lot of the reason the Computer Club declined was that questions that had been able to be asked only once a month could now be asked and answered online 24/7.  Swapmeets were no match for e-bay.

Monthly programs were still useful in the old Club, and I think will be useful with the Geeks as well.  We should be thinking about what local programs/presenters would be interesting to have for the geek-togethers.  I was program chair for the Club and would be glad to find presenters and present some sessions myself as well.

I was the webmaster for the Tri Cities Computer Club for about 6 years. It did some good stuff in its time. I made good money at those swapmeets :-)

I’ve since moved to Columbia, Missouri but hope to make it back to the area someday. Cheers for keeping the geek spirit alive the Tri-Cities.
